News Arhive: Ima Robot Ditch The End Of Duran Durans Tour |
Ima Robot have balls — big balls. The band turned down a chance to open for Duran Duran until April, instead opening the tour for two weeks in March, but then leaving the seminal new wave outfit behind to hit the studio. They will play a total of 11 shows on the Duran Duran tour before going home to record. The disc they’re working on is the follow-up to their 2003 self-titled debut. Singer Alex Ebert told Billboard.com, the band have over 100 songs written for the new record. Duran Duran fans will hear some of the new tunes during Ima Robot's opening sets. Ebert says they’ve been testing some of the new tracks, although many might not make the final cut. The disc has a fall release date and a North American tour is planned to coincide with the disc's release.
There's only one change to the band's line-up — keyboardist Oliver Goldstein has been replaced by former Junior Senior bassist Filip Nikolic.
